London should be the greenest city in the world.
We are a city that prides itself on its creativity and innovation, but compared to other cities we are falling behind in our commitment to the environment.
I want our children to breathe clean air.
But instead of introducing yet another target, I want to create a Green Roadmap - a practical plan for London going green.
We need historic investment in electric vehicle charging points and to ensure all our buses are green buses.
We need to scrap the Silvertown Tunnel project - a £2 billion polluting plan to build a new road in East London.
And we should use that money to invest in better, safer cycle routes and schemes to encourage more people to cycle when they can.
A clean, green city is a healthy city - and that’s just what we should aim to be.
